Before using a nipple shield, please consult a midwife or breastfeeding counsellor to discuss and resolve the underlying problem why a nipple shield is needed. Such care is important to ensure the baby is well nourished, gains weight well, and to provide you with the necessary advice at this time.
Use the nipple shield exclusively for the purpose described in this instruction manual. Check the product before each use. At the first signs of damage or weaknesses, the nipple shield should no longer be used.
Never leave the packaging and/or its contents unattended. If problems or pain occur, contact your midwife or breastfeeding counsellor. Keep nipple shields out of reach of children when not in use. The use of a nipple shield can support your baby in learning to latch while you wait for an appointment with a tongue-tie specialist. If your baby was premature or ill and has been fed with a bottle, a nipple shield can help your baby transition to breastfeeding.
WARNING
Nipple shields should only be used in the first week after birth if expressly recommended by a midwife or breastfeeding counsellor. Use may have a negative impact on milk production.
