Important safety instructions
Read all instructions carefully before use. Before first use, clean all parts that come into contact with breast milk in accordance with the instructions in section 1 Preparing the pump for first use, page 1.
Check the individual components for cracks, crazing, discoloration or damage before each use. If you notice any damage to the appliance or components, please do not use them until the parts have been replaced. Do NOT pump during pregnancy. Pumping during pregnancy can trigger contractions.

Warning:
The Lansinoh® Electric Double Breast Pump is a personal hygiene product. To avoid cross-contamination/infection, the tubing and pump set should never be passed on or resold from one mother to another. Each user should use her own pump. If you are a mother infected with Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C or Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), expressing breast milk with the Lansinoh® Electric Double Breast Pump will not reduce or eliminate the risk of transmitting the virus to your baby through your breast milk. Basic safety precautions should always be taken when using electronic products, especially when children are present.

To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire or personal injury:
• This appliance should never be left unattended when connected to the mains supply.
• Close supervision is necessary when this product is used near children.
• Use this product only for the purpose described in this manual. Do not use any accessories not recommended by the manufacturer.
• Repairs may only be carried out by an authorized service facility. Do not repair it yourself! Modifications to the device are not permitted and will invalidate the warranty.
• Do not operate the appliance if the cord or plug is damaged, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or if it has fallen into water.
• Keep the cable away from hot surfaces.
• Never use the device while you are asleep or sleepy.
• Do not drop objects into the openings or slots and do not insert objects into the openings or slots.
• Do not use this product if it is broken or missing parts.
• Do not allow small children or pets to play with the pump, pump parts, battery or power supply. Do not use the device outdoors with the mains adapter, do not operate it where aerosol sprays are used or where oxygen is administered.
• If the housing of the power adapter or the cables become loose, disconnected or frayed, stop using the power adapter immediately.

To reduce the risk of electric shock:
• Always unplug the appliance immediately after use.
• Do not use when bathing.
• Do not place or store this product where it can fall or be pulled into a bath or sink.
• Do not drop the pump or power supply into water or other liquids.
• Do not reach for an electrical device that has fallen into water. Pull out the plug immediately. Caution! If you feel discomfort in the breast or nipple during use, insert a finger between the suction attachment and your breast to stop the suction immediately. If irritation or discomfort occurs, discontinue use and contact your midwife or lactation consultant.

Instructions for correct handling and safe storage of the rechargeable battery:
• Do not immerse the battery in water or allow it to get wet.
• Do not use or store the battery near sources of heat, such as a fire or heater.
• Do not use any chargers other than the mains adapter supplied with the pump.
• Do not connect the battery directly to sockets or cigarette plugs in the car.
• Do not pierce the battery housing with a nail or other sharp object, do not break it with a hammer and do not step on it.
• Do not hit the battery, throw it, subject it to impacts or drop it on a hard floor.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the battery in any way.
• Do not place the battery in a microwave oven or pressurized container.
• Do not use the battery in combination with primary batteries (e.g. dry batteries) or batteries of a different capacity, type or brand.
• Do not use the battery if it emits odor, generates heat, discolors or deforms, or looks abnormal in any way. When the battery is in use or charging, remove it from the pump and do not use it again. The battery must not be removed while the pump is connected and switched on or milk is being pumped.

Caution!
• Do not use or store the battery in places where it is exposed to extreme heat, such as in a car in direct sunlight on a hot day. The battery may be overheated. This can also reduce the performance of the battery and/or shorten its service life.
• If the battery leaks and electrolyte gets into your eyes, do not rub them. Instead, rinse your eyes with clean, running water and seek medical attention immediately - electrolyte can cause eye injuries.
• Use the battery only under the following environmental conditions. Failure to do so may result in reduced performance or a shortened service life. Charging the battery outside these temperatures may cause the battery to overheat, explode or catch fire.

NOTE:
• Do NOT refreeze the milk after defrosting. NEVER REHEAT MOTHER'S MILK IN THE MICROWAVE! The composition of the milk changes in the microwave. In addition, the uneven heating can make the milk too hot in places and cause burns when drinking.
• NEVER thaw breast milk in hot or boiling water.
• DO NOT use the power adapter if it is damaged.
