The 2 in 1 child seat set with the Avan bayby shell, the Kio reboarder child seat and the Avan / Kio i-Size ISOFIX base station - Prime - Mat Black meets the new i-Size standard (ECE R129/03). Both the Avan bay shell and the Kio reboarder form a practical, modular system with the Avan/Kio Base, as the base can remain in the vehicle for the entire duration of use. This means that both child seats can be quickly and safely installed in any car with just a single click. The Avan infant carrier can be used rear-facing from birth up to a height of 83 cm (approx.15 months). You can use the Kio Reboarder for your child from a size of 60 cm (approx. 3 months) or with the additional newborn insert (available separately from us) already from birth. We recommend using the reboarder rear-facing as long as possible - if possible up to a height of 105 cm or an age of approx. 4 years. As soon as your child is 16 months old and 76 cm tall, you can also use the Kio forward-facing.

From birth up to a size of 83 cm, you can safely transport your baby in the infant carrier. When your baby is taller, you can simply use the Kio reboarder instead of the Avan. A large sun canopy and an innovative ventilation system ensure a pleasant seating climate in the infant carrier. Thanks to the light weight and the ergonomic handle, the baby shell is very easy to carry.

Tested safety: Stiftung Warentest (child seat test 05/2022) rates the Avan infant carrier in combination with the Avan/Kio Base as Good (1.8).

A lot of comfort on the road

You can use the Recaro Avan infant carrier for your child from birth to 15 months of age. The included seat reducer allows even newborns to lie back safely.

The shell can also be used comfortably outside the car, because at only 4.1 kg, the Avan baby shell is one of the lightest of its kind. The ergonomic handle fits comfortably in the hand. In addition, you can use the shell in combination with a stroller as a practical Shop'n Drive system.

Safety is ensured, among other things, by the 3-point harness system with patented Hero technology, which prevents the straps from twisting or slipping and makes it easier to buckle up. Particularly strong protection in the event of a side crash is provided by the Advanced Side Protection - System (ASP). This innovative protection system consists of generous seat side panels and additional padding in the hip and shoulder areas.

Color-contrasting controls ensure intuitive and easy handling. For example, the headrest can be adjusted in 5 positions with a single hand movement, making it easy to adapt to the size of your child. This ensures even more safety and seating comfort. The innovative ventilation system with mesh fabric and openings on the outer shell ensure a pleasant seating climate and prevent heat build-up. The Recaro Avan infant carrier can be attached in 2 different ways. On the one hand, the shell can simply be fixed with the 3-point belt of the car and thus also allows flexible use in vehicles without Isofix device. The reboarder child seat - Kio - Prime - Mat Black

meets the new i-Size standard (ECE R129/03). Rear-facing children up to about 4 years drive here safely and comfortably. From a height of 76 cm (from about 16 months) you can also use the seat forward facing. The Kio is attached with the Isofix base Avan / Kio Base i-Size.

Tested safety: Stiftung Warentest (child seat test 05/2022) rates the reboarder Kio in combination with the Avan/Kio Base with the grade Good (2.3).

Comfort and safety

The seat equipped with seat foam offers maximum comfort. It optimally adapts to the body shape of your child. With the newborn insert (available separately), you can use the Kio from birth (40 - 60 cm). Without the insert, it can be used from the age of approx. 3 months. As a reboarder that grows with your child, your child will not only ride in a rear-facing position for the obligatory first 15 months, but up to a height of 105 cm. Thus, your offspring is particularly well protected up to an age of about four years. Practical: From a height of at least 76 cm (approx. 16 months), the child seat can also be positioned in the direction of travel.

With ASP system and intuitive controls

The integrated side impact protection with fold-out protectors (Advanced Side Protection) reliably secures your child and absorbs impact energy in the event of an accident. The protectors can be folded out in the direction of the door and reliably absorb lateral accident forces.

Color-contrasting controls ensure intuitive and easy handling. For example, the headrest can be adjusted 6-fold with a flick of the wrist and adapts to the size of your child. This ensures even more safety and seating comfort. The innovative ventilation system with mesh fabric and openings on the outer shell ensure a pleasant seating climate and prevent heat build-up. With the practical one-hand recline adjustment, 3 resting positions can be set in each of the two driving directions.

Fastening in the car

The child seat is attached using the Isofix base Avan / Kio i-Size. You then anchor the seat and base in your vehicle using the Isofix locking arms. The adjustable support foot of the base is positioned in the footwell of the car and provides additional support here.

The Avan/Kio i-Size Base

is part of the Recaro modular system. The i-Size Base can be used from birth to approx. 4 years - first with the Avan infant carrier and then with the Kio reboarder. The Isofix connectors and the fold-out support foot ensure that the Base is securely fastened in the vehicle. The control window shows whether the base has been correctly installed.

Securely fastened and easy to operate

The Avan / Kio i-Size ISOFIX base station is ideal for use in conjunction with the Avan infant carrier and Kio reboarder, ensuring quick and secure child seat installation. Simply connect the ISOFIX connectors to the ISOFIX device of your car and the base is safely installed. The enclosed insertion aids facilitate the installation and at the same time protect the car upholstery from possible damage. The central display window of the base station shows you whether the child seat and base are correctly installed. This guarantees maximum safety. The height-adjustable base provides additional support in the car. Thanks to the one-hand operation, the child seats can be intuitively installed and removed correctly. The roll bar has an energy-absorbing effect in the event of an accident. The slim design and retractable support base allow for easy transport and space-saving storage when not in use.
