Changing dressers

Why a changing dresser?

A changing dresser is one of those baby items you will need most in the first years of your child's life. Especially in the first weeks of your baby's life, you will change diapers up to 10 times a day. All the more important that the changing area is cozy, comfortable and practical for you and your baby. We give you an overview of what to look for when buying.

A changing dresser is practical and versatile. Here you can store everything you need for changing within easy reach: wet wipes, baby powder, diaper rash cream, diapers, spare clothes etc. A changing dresser is also suitable for comfortable changing of clothes and baby massage. Everything needed for that also finds space here.

Changing dressers in different variants

Width

There are decisive differences in width. Product descriptions repeatedly mention narrow and wide changing dressers.

Which variant you prefer is a matter of taste – and of course of space.The small storage surface on wide changing dressers is practical, as you have important utensils quickly within reach. However, these pieces of furniture also take up somewhat more space in the room than narrow changing dressers.

Wide changing dressers offer a small storage surface in addition to the changing table topper.

With narrow changing dressers the topper takes up the full width or more.

Changing height

Especially in the first weeks of your baby's life, you will change diapers up to 10 times a day – and that for at least 2 years. So that this doesn't strain your back in the long run, make sure when buying that the changing height is back-friendly for you. If you are about 160 cm tall, the changing dresser should be about 85 cm high. From 170 cm height onwards, look for heights from 95 cm.

Convertible thanks to removable changing table topper

You can continue to use most changing dressers later as regular dressers. Simply remove the changing table topper to do so. This gives you a flexibly usable piece of furniture for the toddler's room, the hallway or other rooms.

Tips for changing diapers

Never leave your baby alone on the changing dresser!
A changing pad is usually not included with changing dressers. However, you can of course order one at the same time in our shop.
Find practical changing accessories, such as changing table heaters and diaper pails in our shop.
A cute crib mobile is simply part of changing diapers.
New furniture can smell a bit right after unpacking. Set up your changing dresser and all other nursery furniture about three weeks before the birth and let everything air out well. To help odors dissipate faster, you can place one or more small bowls of baking soda or coffee in the room.
