Checklist: The Perfect Footmuff for Strollers, Jogging Strollers, or Infant Car Seats

A good footmuff should meet these criteria:

Protection from cold: The ideal footmuff has insulating filling, such as thermal fibers or down, and a cozy inner lining made of fleece, sheepskin, or wool.
Some footmuffs, especially the smaller models for stroller bassinets, also have a hood that keeps your baby's sensitive head nice and warm.
Protection from the weather: When buying a footmuff, also look for a weatherproof outer fabric that repels wind and moisture.

3. Down Footmuff

There are also footmuffs that grow with your child, which can be extended at the foot end with a zipper. As a general rule: your baby should have enough freedom of movement in the footmuff, but should not sink into it.

Washing and Caring for Your Footmuff: How to Do It Right

Stains are hard to avoid with babies and toddlers. It's best to wipe stains off right away with a damp cloth and, if needed, mild soapy water.
